VindIn develops wind power in the south eastern part of the country. Behind VindIn are some of the Nordic region's most electricity-intensive and capital-strong industrial companies. The company has as its strategy to run its wind farms for at least 20 years in order to increase the range of renewable electricity in the Nordic market.

Metsä Board is an electricity-intensive company with among other things a factory in Kaskö, south eastern bottom, which produces bleached semi-mechanical pulp for paper and cardboard industry.

Together, VindIn and Metsä Board are investigating the conditions and opportunities for collaboration on increased use of existing infrastructure for high-voltage power transmission. With the collaboration, VindIn's planned wind farms, Kalax, Pjelax and Böle can be connected to Metsä Board's 25 km high-voltage (110 kV) between Kaskö and Kristinestad. .

Provided the evaluation of the investigations results in the network collaboration being technically and commercially feasible, VindIn and Metsä Board will plan the next step to implement the cooperation.
