Low noise levels at Svalskulla wind farm

posted in: Current Wind, cool Ball | 0

Noise measurements have been carried out at Svalskulla wind farm in Närpes, which consists of 5 wind turbines. The measurements show that the noise levels are below the applicable guideline values and action limits for noise and are lower than the levels calculated in the planning stage.

VindIn has allowed FCG (Finnish Consulting Group) to carry out a noise measurement at Svalskulla wind farm. The noise measurements have been carried out in accordance with the Ministry of the Environment's instructions 4 / 2014 ”Measurements of noise level from wind turbines at objects exposed ”.

For the power plants planned today, the guide value at night is 40 dB at 8 m / s, regardless of the residential use. The guide value of 8 m / s comes from the fact that at higher wind speeds, the background noise begins to dominate over the sound of the wind turbines.

Measurements were carried out at the nearest home, 1,1 km from the wind farm. In addition, a measuring point was made just 520 meters from the park. This measurement point was intended to be where the calculated value was 40 dBA, but ended up due to the nature of the properties somewhat closer so a value just above 40 dBA could be expected.

When measuring at the nearest home, the noise level was 31,9 dBA, of which the turbines' share of the total noise was about 29 dBA. The values are adjusted to a wind speed of 8 m / s in accordance with the instructions. This meant that neither guideline values nor action limits for noise were exceeded. The guideline values for low-frequency noise were also not exceeded. After a frequency analysis of the noise, it was found that the sound does not contain a high proportion of individual frequencies, which in that case would be perceived as more disturbing.

At the measuring point located just 520 meters from the park, the sound level 39,6 dBA was measured, of which the turbines' share of the total sound was about 38 dBA. The measured level was thus below the level calculated in the planning stage.

  • We see here that the noise levels we measure when the wind turbines are in operation are lower than what was calculated in the planning stage. We have also noted this in measurements made at our large park of 30 wind turbines on Trattberget in Sweden, says Christina Hillforth project director at VindIn.
  • We have not had any complaints about noise from local residents around Svalskulla wind farm and although we have not been worried about increased noise levels, it feels good that we have now also been able to make measurements that ensure this, continues Christina. These are experiences that both we and the authorities benefit from in the future expansion of wind power plants in the region.

VindIn intends to construct and operate four (4) wind turbines at Kärsås in the municipality of Falkenberg, Halland County. The park is located about 10 miles east of Falkenberg, on the south side of road 1,5, about 150 km east of Grinnared and about 2 km south of Sjöred. The works will be located within Falkenberg municipality's designated wind farm area, VL1,5 Kärsås, on the properties Kärsås 3: 1 and Asige-Tornared 1: 1.

The area consists of a relatively hilly forest landscape with a significant impact on forestry. The place has a high position with an estimated average wind of about 6,6 m / s, which makes the place suitable for wind use.

The network connection of the park will be to E.on's 130 kV power grid station in Abild. The pipeline will either be dug down at existing roads or placed along the pipeline that runs north of the works.

Status and schedule

At the end of 2011, VindIn submitted the application and environmental impact assessment to the County Administrative Board in Halland County. Subsequently, the application has been supplemented, the opinion has been received and the application has been announced.

VindIn received a decision in June 2013. The decision includes permits to construct 4 wind turbines with a total height of 180 m. If the works are not equipped with such a system, the works may only have a total height of 150 m. The decision has not yet gained legal force, but the case lies with the Land and Environment Court.

Construction of roads and wind turbines is expected to start during the last quarter of 2013 and the park is expected to be operational during the latter part of 2014.

VindIn AB builds wind farm in Trattberget

posted in: Solberg | 0

VindIn AB, which is owned by a number of energy-intensive companies in Sweden, has signed an agreement with Siemens for the delivery and construction of 30 wind turbines. The wind turbines will be located on Trattberget and Skallberget in northwestern Ångermanland. The effect is XNUMM MW per work.

- The area was early inventoried as a national interest in wind power. After two years of wind measurements and good cooperation with Örnsköldsvik municipality, local interests, Vilhelmina Södra Sameby and Svenska Kraftnät, we are now ready to build our first wind farm of a larger format, says Anders Lyberg, CEO of VindIn AB.

- We are proud and happy that VindIn has chosen Siemens as a supplier for their first really big wind power project. The project in Trattberget will also be Siemens 'largest combined onshore wind farm in Sweden and thus a very important part of Siemens' continued expansion plans in the Swedish market. We appreciate the trust that VindIn and the basic industry have shown us, says Ulf Troedsson, CEO of Siemens AB.

For the project, VindIn Elnät AB, a newly formed subsidiary of VindIn AB, will construct an 220 kV line for connection to a switchgear amplified by Svenska Kraftnät. Roads and foundations are completed under 2011. Delivery and assembly of the wind turbines commences during the summer 2012 with planned commissioning before the turn of the year 2012 / 2013.

The project is the second in a number of planned wind power projects. Since 2009, the company operates a wind farm in Skutskär with five works and a production of 30 GWh / year.

- VindIn continues to work on the development of other projects with the goal of establishing a total of 1 TWh of wind power production per year for use in the Swedish basic industry, says Anders Lyberg.

The project in Trattberget is financed by VindIns owners and Nordea.

VindIn AB intends to establish a wind farm comprising approximately 20-40 wind turbines in an area north of Ivarsboda in Umeå and Robertsfors municipalities. The plants are planned to reach a total height of a maximum of 200 meters and have an installed capacity of approximately 2-4 MW / plant. The establishment will tentatively take place within 1-3 years.

Basis for consultation in Ivarsboda-Gryssjön

VindIn AB has applied for a permit in accordance with Chapter 9. the Environmental Code for the planned activities. For electricity connection of the wind farm, permits will be sought according to the Electricity Act, so-called network concession for line. As part of the permit process, consultation with those who may be affected is now being carried out. The purpose of the consultation is to inform at an early stage about the planned activities and to gather views and further knowledge for the continued work on establishing the application.

The land within the investigation area is partly owned by VindIn through its owner company and partly by private landowners with whom VindIn signed an agreement.

Wind data from the energy authority shows good wind potential in the investigation area. Due to the good wind conditions in the area, the Swedish Energy Agency, in consultation with the county administrative boards, has pointed out the area as a national interest for wind farms.

Press release: Landowner in Sävar and VindIn AB in collaboration

posted in: Savar | 0

Landowner in Sävar and VindIn AB in cooperation for wind power projects.
18 landowner in Sävar and Holmen AB together with the Swedish basic industry's Wind Power Company VindIn AB have signed an agreement to develop a wind power project between the village Sävar and Norum.

The agreement aims to verify with wind measurements of the area between Sävar and Norum whether the national interest area for wind power classified by the Swedish Energy Agency can be confirmed.

In parallel with the wind measurements that will last for at least one year, a project comprising 15 - 25 wind turbines will be prepared, which means that a complete environmental assessment of the project will be submitted to the county administrative board. The plants planned will have a maximum height of 170 m with an installed capacity of 2 - 4 MW / plant. Depending on the final design of the park, an annual production of almost 150 GWh, corresponding to a consumption of 7 electrically heated villas, can hopefully be established within 500-2 years. All provided that the wind resources can be confirmed and that an environmental permit is obtained. The wind farm will probably be connected to the regional network via the existing switchgear in Sävar.

- We see the collaboration with the basic industry as a great opportunity to use our forest lands for both continued normal forestry and new sustainable renewable power production. We also see it as an advantage that the project can strengthen the conditions for our Swedish basic industry, says the spokesman for the landowners, Nils Kriström.

- For the basic industries, we have found a strong combination and cohesion of landowners who are willing to participate in the development of a potentially very good wind power project. With this project, we hope to be able to contribute to broadening our long-term power supply, actively contribute to the very high national environmental goals and at the same time strengthen the financial base for cooperating landowners and indirectly for the region, says Anders Lyberg CEO of VindIn AB.

The wind farm 'ENADE' in Skutskär inaugurated

posted in: Skutskar | 0

On Monday, November 12, VindIn's first commercial wind farm was inaugurated in Skutskär. State Secretary Ola Alterå cut the ties in front of happy partners and other stakeholders. Now the wind's energy can be transformed into renewable electricity for many years to come on this beautiful site.

The park, "ENADE" has been in commercial operation since October 8 and has already had time to prove that it has a good production capacity and that the physical feed directly to Skutskär's pulp mill takes place without any disruption to the mill. Variations in consumption in the mill interfere, purely electrically, at the same time not the wind turbines. A good collaboration!

The wind power company VindIn goes from word to deed. A number of concrete steps are now being taken to realize the goal of building an annual capacity corresponding to 1 TWh:

• The first wind farm in Skutskär a mile south of Gävle has just been commissioned
• The environmental permit application has been submitted for the first major wind farm in Solberg ten miles west of Örnsköldsvik.
• A few more projects are under development, located in the vicinity of our owners' operations.

VindIn also notes an increased interest among landowners to sign a right of use agreement with a designer who has both the capacity and the will to build and own long-term wind turbines.

Our owners have a great interest in us now advancing in our plans. Signing a number of new leases will be an important complement to the land that our owners can make available, says Anders Lyberg, CEO of VindIn.
Several landowners have agreements with other players that are now expiring or terminated. During the autumn, VindIn addresses both these and other landowners with good wind locations who are interested in signing lease agreements for the construction of wind turbines.
